LONDON: Young leg spinner rehan ahmet it could be England‘s youngest male Test cricketer after being added to the roster on Wednesday for the three-game Pakistani tour that begins next week.
LeicestershireEngland’s national under-19 team is 18 and 102 days, and if selected, they can beat Brian Close of Yorkshire, who represented England in 18 years and 149 days against New Zealand in July 1949.
“We know he’s not a finished product and has raw potential, but we (Stokes), myself and the rest of the coaches love how he approaches his game,” head coach Brendon McCullum said in a statement.

“The experience of being a part of the team in Pakistan will be very rewarding for him and will add to the structure of our roster,” said McCullum.
Currently based in Abu Dhabi, the UK is flying to Pakistan on Saturday, with its first Test in Rawalpindi from 1 December.
The test will be the UK’s first test in Pakistan since 2005. International teams have largely been swept away since a 2009 attack on a Sri Lankan team bus in Lahore by Islamist militants killed six policemen and two civilians.
