Free sea, air and tank game War Thunder Bombs Review are skyrocketing as the game’s player base responds to revised changes to the in-game economy that would make the game even harder to play without real money. War Thunder developer and publisher Gaijin has told players that it is going to make a number of changes to the game’s economy, which rewards you with the Silver Lions (SL) currency for purchasing vehicles, mods and repairing damaged vehicles after games, as well as Research Points (RP). researching new vehicles and units before you can purchase them will make it much more difficult to progress after matches without paying real money.

In response to general player feedback, Gaijin said, “We’ve been following the feedback closely and we see that while some players generally agree with us, we also see that there are players who feel that these changes don’t help them. For this reason, we decided not to introduce economic changes.”
Just a cursory glance at the reviews shows that since May 17th, there have been thousands of negative reviews per day, many of them from long-time players. There’s even an open letter I’ve seen in comments on Twitter posts where players suggest changes they want to see instead.
Following player backlash to War Thunder’s economic changes, Gaijin has decided to cancel the planned changes as a “first step” in addressing general player concerns about the in-game economy and how it has slowly been favoring greater incentives to use real money over the years. In fact, a poll was offered to players that can be filled by May 25, 2023.
On paper, that might sound like the end. Gaijin says that there will be a major economic change in War Thunder’s update this summer, which will use the survey above as a basis for what will be changed. The fact is that Gaijin creative director Kyrylo Yudintsev also wrote an article about how free-to-play games like War Thunder work and how players tear them apart.
The article essentially explains how free games work and comments on the review bombing where players criticize Gaijin for not understanding that they know how the model works and instead are frustrated with the changes the developer made to that particular model.
“Bombarding reviews hurts the game because new players just don’t want to try it, but it doesn’t raise their awareness of the issues you’ve noticed,” says Gaijin. “If your goal is not to harm the game, use other, less destructive methods.”
However, it seems that the broad community response, from forum comments, Reddit, and even Steam reviews, has seen how Gaijin will change War Thunder’s economy, and more changes are on the way.
