A six-year-old boy has been pulled from the rubble of a deadly earthquake in Indonesia after spending two days trapped under the rubble without food or water, in what has been described as a “miraculous” rescue.

The dramatic moment was caught on camera by an emergency worker dispatched to the area after the earthquake struck the West Java city of Cianjur, killing at least 271 people.

A man who pulled the child from a hole cut in the debris grabbed him by both arms, while another rescuer wearing an orange hard hat ran after them to hold the boy’s hand, footage released by the Bogor district administration in West Java showed.

Azka, whose last name remains unknown, is then shown calmly sipping a drink, held by a soldier while another emergency worker strokes his hair.
