MANILA, Philippines — Jerom Lastimosa will be unable to play for the remainder of the UAAP Season 85 men’s basketball tournament as he continues to recover from a right foot injury.
The Adamson guard announced on Thursday that he has been away for at least two more weeks.
Two weeks, dad. Di na ako aabot,” Lastimosa said after Adamson’s 81-78 loss to La Salle at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
“Punish well, tapos can rot bone religion. Magpapa-PRP aka bukas. Sayang nga eh,” he added.
(I still need two weeks. I won’t be able to come. I have a tear and a bone bruise. I will have PRP done tomorrow.)
Lastimosa averaged 17.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.5 assists before being injured against the University of the Philippines.
Despite La Salle’s heartbreaking defeat, Lastimosa still praised his teammates for taking a bold stand.
“I’m happy that everyone is taking steps,” Lastimosa said in Filipino. “I hope they continue to do their best for Adamson even if I fail.”
Adamson currently holds a 4-6 record with four elimination matches remaining.
