A true detective creator Nic Pizzolatto is set to develop a western drama series for Amazon and has already secured a series commitment.
The untitled series revolves around “an ex-outlaw who must come to terms with a threat from his past to save the life and family he’s worked so hard to build.”
Pizzolatto has proven to be a great storyteller, and it’s exciting to know that he’ll be transitioning into the western genre. From what little we know, it seems like a general concept, but I have no doubt that Pizzolatto and his team will craft a great story with all kinds of deep, interesting, and dark layers.
This is obviously Amazon’s attempt to replicate the success Paramount+ had with Taylor Sheridan. Yellowstone franchise.
