Muv-Luv publisher aNCHOR has launched a collaboration with subculture cafe and bar NewType Shinjuku in Tokyo, and it’s something fans of the popular visual novel series are likely to enjoy.

The shared cafe is open now and will be available until April 23, so if you’re heading to Japan to enjoy the cherry blossom season, you’ll still have time to visit.

It is open from Monday to Friday from 17:00 to 23:00, and on weekends and holidays from 11:00 to 23:00. If you need directions, you can check official site or simply Google maps.

In the cafe, you can enjoy food and drinks inspired by the games Move-Luv series at the top Kimi Ha Nozomu Eyen (which many Westerners know by the English title of the anime special, Murmuring of hearts).

Before the opening of the cafe, we have a comment (and an invitation) from Move-Luv Executive brand producer of the series is Kazutoshi “Tororo” Matsumura.

“Hello, this is me, the executive producer of the brand Muv-Luv tororo!
We’re hosting a joint cafe with NewType Shinjuku to celebrate Muv-Luv’s 20th anniversary!
It’s on until April 23rd, so stop by if you’re planning a trip to Japan and recommend it to your friends who are here!”

Drinks include such gems as Yuuko-sensei’s hot coffee and tea… and they’re served in her signature glasses. If you love Total Eclipse, you can enjoy Polestar’s Gimlet or Kryska The cherished party vodka “Victory”.. Fans of Best Girl Mitsuki Hayase will be able to taste the pure whiskey she likes to enjoy at home. If you Move-Luv the preference is more towards the European front Alternative Chronicles Adoration, Synthetic Banana au Lait by Dover Base PX could be more of your jam.

If you want to fill your stomach, you can be tempted by deep-fried synthetic whale meat, Mitsuki’s special chicken curry, Sumika & Kasumi’s homemade hamburger steak, or the takoyaki that Takuyuki bought for Ayu at the festival. That being said, my favorite would have to be the Kintsuba purple sweet potato from the Mitsurugi family.

If you are not familiar with Move-Luv series, it is widely regarded as one of the best (if not the best) visual novel series of all time (even Bing agrees, though apparently unable to overcome PTSD), combining a tragic and romantic story with one of the best and deepest isekai sci-fi worlds ever written. Kimi Ha Nozomu Eyen was actually earlier, but it’s part of the same universe set in the same school as the first one Muv-Louv visual novel.

majority Move-Luv visual novels are currently available in English on Steam (until Move-Luv and An alternative to Muv-Luv were also released on PS Vita) along with the Early Access action game Project MIKHAIL: History of the Muv-Lyuv warwhile the official localization Kimi Ha Nozomu Eyen finally at work.

Below you can find a few more photos of the cafe and its offerings, in addition to the decor, including deep-fried synthetic whale meat, Sumika & Kasumi’s homemade Hamburg steak, synthetic banana with Dover Base PX milk, and more. Photos courtesy of aNCHOR’s Adam Lensenmeier.
