Having promised a heavyweight transition for years, Jones will face Gane at the main event of UFC 285, as the Frenchman seeks to recapture the undisputed belt that eluded him last year. Gane, 32, was the interim champion when he fought Francis Ngannou last January, but the latter was victorious in points to consolidate the gold.

UFC 285 will take place on Saturday, March 4 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Early qualifiers will begin at 23:15 GMT (3:15 pm PT, 5:15 pm CT, 6:15 pm ET) and qualifiers will be at 1:00 pm GMT (5:00 pm PT, 7 pm CT) on Sunday, March 5. , Saturday 20:00 ET) will begin.
The motherboard is then scheduled for 03:00 GMT on Sunday (19:00 PT on Saturday, 21:00 CT, 22:00 ET).
