The shooting of the next film “Silent Hill” will begin next month

The following casting has been announced Silent Hill the film, which will begin shooting next month.

Jeremy Irvine (War Horse) and Hannah Emily Anderson (Jigsaw) will lead Return To Silent Hill, which will be based on the video game Silent Hill 2, Deadline reports

Filming will continue next month in Germany and Eastern Europe under the direction of original Silent Hill director Christoph Hans.

According to the official synopsis, the film will tell the story of James (Irvine), a man broken after breaking up with his one true love (Anderson).

“When a mysterious letter calls him back to Silent Hill in search of her, he finds a once recognizable town transformed by an unknown evil.

“As James descends deeper into the darkness, he encounters terrifying figures both familiar and new, and begins to question his own sanity as he tries to make sense of reality and hang on long enough to save his lost love.”

Director Hans said in a statement: “Return to Silent Hill is a mythological love story about someone so deeply in love that they are willing to go to hell to save someone.

“I am delighted that the remarkable talents of Jeremy Irwin and Hannah Emily Anderson have taken us on this journey into a psychological horror world that I hope will delight and surprise Silent Hill fans.”

Producer Victor Hadida added: “Christophe and I work closely with our partners in Konamias they update the video game to also create a version of Silent Hill for modern theater audiences.

“You will still find the iconic monsters, but there will also be a new design. We’re confident that this new movie and Konami’s updated game together will push the franchise forward for years to come.”

After months of speculation, Konami officially confirmed this last year a remake of Silent Hill 2 is in the works in Team Blooberin addition to NoCode Silent Hill Townfall and another new name Silent Hill F.

Meanwhile, Silent Hill: Ascension“an interactive streaming series where the entire community shapes the Silent Hill canon” will launch in 2023.
