Leaving us a vague “June” launch window for its remake of Layers of Fear for the past few months, Bloober’s development team is finally ready to talk details, confirming that its “psychedelic horror chronicle” will be released for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC on June 15th.
Layers of Fear is a somewhat unusual offering that takes the two previous Layers of Fear titles from the Bloober team (as well as the first Inheritance DLC game) and then reimagines them all as a single interconnected narrative with stunning Unreal Engine 5 visualsnew gameplay elements, including a lantern to ward off dark horrors, and expanded storylines.
This time, the familiar clues of an artist on the verge of completing his masterpiece and a legendary actor shooting his last film on a labyrinthine ocean liner, as described in Layers of Fear 1 and 2 respectively, are accompanied by a new “story chapter”. ” following the artist’s wife, who is rarely seen, and a new framing device that focuses on a character tied to a lighthouse known as the Writer that holds everything together.
