Wild Hearts is out now, and while console players are enjoying the first true Monster Hunter competitor, PC players have only had performance complaints from early access. Unfortunately, Omega Force’s developer was unable to fix the issue prior to launch, resulting in Steam Bombing review. This was reported by the developer patch to fix these issues once and for all, but there is no date for this. However, one player managed to find a workaround to hold you over until then.
Published Ryan Johnson on the Steam Forumsthis “fancy workaround”, as they called it, seems to have really worked, not only based on the comments, but also recognition and thanks from the developer himself (thanks PCGamesN).
“I’m not sure why or how, but after loading the game on medium and high settings, the overlay said I was getting 60 fps, but I thought I was getting 20,” Ryan’s post said. I was ready to wait to get my money back when my friend remarked that he put on headphones and his problems disappeared and now the game ran smoothly.
“I tried the same thing but it didn’t work. I went to audio settings and changed (stereo) (which is on by default) to 7.1 / 5.1 and it’s smooth? And now I’m over 60fps. And that’s really what it feels like. Now the game can be played.”
Well, this strange workaround seems to be working, as the comments section is flooded with acknowledgments and thanks. On Reddit, the developers have confirmed that this solution works, although not in every case. “We’ve been testing this fix brought to our attention by u/ProfessionalAnimal27 and Ryan, and have confirmed reports that in some cases switching your ‘output settings’ in the in-game sound settings from stereo to 71.ch/5.1ch can again , in in some cases – productivity improvement”.
The post states that players already hitting over 60fps are unlikely to see any further frame rate increases. “Many thanks again to u/ProfessionalAnimal27 and Ryan for finding this workaround. And thanks to all affected hunters for your patience while we work on the final fix.”
