Great Star Wars Cosplay brings Jedi Master Aayla Secura to life. Twi’lek Jedi Master Aayla Secura has the curious distinction of being a comic book character; When George Lucas saw Aayla on one of his covers Star Wars: The Republic, he immediately decided to include it in the prequel trilogy. Although Aayla Secura had a minor role in the prequels, she was played by Jennifer Hale. Star Wars: The Clone WarsHale was even revived as one of the roles The voices of the Jedi ushered Rey inside Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Star Wars cosplayer Only Steph Now Aayla has brought Secura to life in a stunning cosplay that has to be seen to be believed.

Just swinging Steven’s lightsaber feels like a great character for a skilled Jedi Master, and the overall design feels simpler than it actually is. Recently, Aayla Secura has been sadly overlooked Star Wars canon, and one can only hope that this cosplay will remind Lucasfilm just how popular he is.

George Lucas took the best of the Star Wars Expanded Universe

Aayla serves as a reminder of the complex relationship between Secura Star Wars and the old Expanded Universe. Lucas never considered himself bound by stories told in other media by other writers, but he was happy to use them for ideas. For example, the galactic capital of Coruscant was lifted straight from Timothy Zahn’s Thrawn trilogy. Aayla Secura is another great example, a character who made the transition from comics to the big screen. Ironically, her first appearance is now considered non-canon (or “Legends”), but Aayla remains.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t mean Ayla’s story has a happy ending. Aayla is one of them A Jedi killed during Order 66 is shown, was shot dead by the clone troopers he served with. He may be famous Star Wars character, but Aayla’s popularity proves no protection from the dark side. This probably explains why Aayla was so underdeveloped during the Disney era, given that House of Mouse prioritized the Dark Times in its written stories and the Original Trilogy era in the comics. Hopefully this will be fixed soon and in the future Star Wars stories provide new insight into Aayla Secura.
