NEW DELHI: BCCI fires four-member senior on Friday national selection committee led by Chetan Sharma The Indian cricket team failed to reach the T20 World Cup final in Australia.
During Chetan’s tenure, India also failed to reach the qualifying stage in the 2021 edition of the T20 World Cup and lost. World Test Championship end.
Chetan (North region), Harvinder Singh (Central District), Sunil Joshi (South District), and Underestimate Mohanty (East District) had the shortest time as senior national selectors recently. Some were appointed in 2020, some in 2021.
A senior national selector normally receives a four-year term, subject to extension. Then there was no selector from the West Zone. Abbey Kuruvilla‘s term has expired.
Chetan’s dismissal was announced by the PTI on October 18, after the BCCI General Assembly.
On Friday, BCCI invited applications for the position of national selectors (Senior Men).
The application deadline is 28 November.
