You read that right, ahead Suicide Squad: Justice League release date Later this year, Batman Arkham’s least successful villain appears to have been spotted in a new one superhero game footage from developer Rocksteady. Although we don’t know in what capacity they will appear, it seems quite likely that they will be in the new one Suicide Squad game.

Since Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is a sequel to the Batman Arkham games, with The late Kevin Conroy’s Batman is among the returning DC charactersmaybe that’s not so surprising to hear The Riddler is back in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, as his iconic moniker appears in the latest trailer to give it away. You can see the Riddler symbol at 1:54 in the frame below.

As NicolasJLevy emphasized on Twittera glowing green question mark can be seen in footage of the new Suicide Squad game, confirming the Riddler’s return, but not necessarily his Riddler’s Trophy.

Suicide Squad brings back Batman Arkham's least successful villain

Now I’m saying he’s the least successful villain, but I actually think the Riddler Trophies and Riddles in the Batman Arkham games were mostly pretty great. It’s just that by the time you get to the later games, the Riddler stretches what the mystery really is and is easily defeated by Batman in each individual game.

On what planet is the Riddler’s words “go through this assault time trial in your car” in Batman Arkham Knight even remotely a real mystery? The further we get from Arkham Asylum, the more one starts grasping at straws, and I’m naturally reticent to watch this new live-action service in the DC universe turn the Riddler into more spin-off content.

While this talk of the Riddler in a Suicide Squad game is a bit of fun, news of what Rocksteady’s new game will look like and what it means for the release has been met with much more skepticism.

The game’s Q&A page states that “an internet connection is required to play Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League solo or through online co-op” and the game wouldn’t be a modern service game if there wasn’t some sort of combat pass, of course.

“Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will feature a cosmetic-only Battle Pass system at launch to get new outfits, emotes, and other items to personalize in-game characters,” the Q and A said. “Each Battle Pass will have free levels available free for all Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League players, with premium levels available as an additional in-game purchase. All elements of the Battle Pass will be cosmetic and will not affect gameplay in any way.”
