Wrexham‘s historic Racecourse Ground will be known as the SToK Racecourse under the terms of a new sponsorship deal brokered by the Hollywood owners. Ryan Reynolds And Rob McElhenney.
This will feature the world’s oldest international football stadium – Wales played their first match here against Scotland on 5 March 1877 – a sponsor and the deal will go into effect on 1 July.
Welsh speaking fans of Wrexham will now know the place as SToK Cae Ras.
STOCK Cold Brew CoffeeAccording to the official Wrexham website, it is one of the largest and fastest growing cold brew coffee brands in the United States, but does not sell in the UK.
Wrexham co-owners McElhenney and Reynolds announced the stadium’s name change in a cheery video, in which they decided to secretly replace the team’s traditional afternoon tea with SToK Cold Brew Coffee to see if they would notice.
A joint statement from McElhenney and Reynolds read: “We wanted a stadium sponsor that captures the vibrancy and energy of Wrexham while also having a bit of learning experience to say it like Welsh. SToK Cold Brew Coffee fits the bill perfectly.
“We’re incredibly excited and a little too caffeinated.”
Wrexham says the addition of a stadium sponsor name to Cae Ras/Raceway was supported by the club’s advisory board of fan representatives.
Brittney Polka, vice president of Ready-to-Drink Beverages at Danone North America, said: “Some may wonder why a US-based cold coffee brand sponsors a tea-drinking Welsh football team.
“Answer: SToK is all about bold moves.
“We were captivated by the story of Wrexham – the team, the fans and the community – and were honored to welcome the Wrexham family.
“We will cheer for the Red Dragons and raise our cold beers from afar.”

“After gaining the support of the club advisory board and recognizing that the majority of fans are happy with the stadium being sponsored, we are delighted to partner with one of the fastest growing cold brew coffee brands in the US. The trajectory matches ours.”
Last month Wrexham returned to the English Football League after a 15-year hiatus and won the Vanarama National League title with a total of 111 points.
SToK will now sponsor Wrexham’s summer tour of the Americas, which will include friendly matches against Chelsea and Manchester United.
