Ubisoft Year 1800 is currently celebrating its launch on consoles with a free week extended to PC players, meaning the city builder is temporarily free computer game the same. However, if you want to take advantage of the offer, you’ll have to go outside of Steam, as the offer only applies to the Ubisoft Connect and Epic Games store versions.
Anno 1800, as the name suggests, puts you at the helm of a civilization at the dawn of the industrial age. This means that there are many opportunities to explore the technological innovations and rapid development of the era. You’ll want to take advantage of diplomacy, trade routes, and perhaps even warfare to ensure your success at this turning point in history.
Those of you who prefer to play solo will find a story campaign mode complete with customizable sandbox options with the option of different AI opponents and randomly generated maps to keep things fresh. There are also online co-op or competitive options if you want to test your skills with other real players.
Anno 1800 is free to play from March 16th to March 23rd. You can play either through Epic Games Storeor directly through Ubisoft Connect. If you want to continue playing after that, it’s currently 75% off on all platforms (including Steam) until March 23rd, and your progress can be carried over from the free week.
