Almost a year after its release, the movie “Sonic the Hedgehog 2” won the “Favorite Movie” category of the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
To claim the title, the blue blur had to beat Focus Pocus 2, Jurassic World, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Monster High: The Movie, Top Gun: Maverick, Black Adam and Avatar : The way of water”.
This latest accolade follows news last May that the film had grossed $331.64 million at the global box office, surpassing the original film’s record of $319.71 million set in 2020. Sonic 2 also had the biggest opening for a video game.
Sega Corporation and Paramount Pictures have already confirmed that a third Sonic movie is in the works, with a December 2024 release scheduled for last August. Although nothing has been shared yet, one character has already been teased.
