Massive Twitch streamer Michael “sharan” Grzesik officially becomes the latest creator to support a new game development project, he announced today.

Shroud is teaming up with fellow streamer Chris “Sacriel” Ball, and both streamers are partnering with the developers of Splash Damage to work on Project Astrid, “AAA open world survival game”. In his announcement, Sharad said that his dream was to create his own game and that his goal was to “make the best game ever”.

The trio of shroud, Sacriel and Splash Damage have high hopes for the recently announced title. Splash Damage creative director Lance Winter said: “We have an opportunity to do something really new in survival, to create an IP from the ground up… hopefully it will be a one in a million game.”

The announcement video emphasized the importance of gunplay in the upcoming game, and Savan said it would be a feature his community would be looking for. He too added his belief that Sakriel and himself have “perfected a vision of what’s next in the survival genre” and that this can be done by working with Splash Damage.

Splash Damage Studio was founded in 2001 and has proven itself in both multiplayer and Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. The company has worked on the multiplayer aspects of several prolific franchises, including Dum, Gears of Warand Haloas well as the development of titles such as Brink, Dirty Bomb, and Gears Tactics. Splash Damage also works on a transformers game.

According to Winter, both shroud and Sacriel will serve as “executive creators” on the development team and will be tasked with providing “new insights into what fans and creators really want from their gaming experience.”
