Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 currently available for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox one. Warzone 2.0 is its free-to-play Battle Royale spin-off and is available for the same platforms.
At the moment, the future of the Call of Duty series is a bit murky. We already know that a new premium game is coming out this yearbut the expected acquisition of Activision Blizzard makes further developments unpredictable, especially given that Microsoft is making deals with companies like Nintendo and Nvidia get a franchise on Switch and Geforce Now.
This means that the franchise can reach entire groups of new users in its future iterations, but that requires buy-in. Microsoft and Activision plan to shut it down by June 30, but regulators procrastinated instigated by rival Sony, which seems intent on blocking the acquisition at all costs, refusing deals like the one Nintendo offered.
