After much (many, many) delays, it’s finally time to discover what lasts Shazam! Wrath of the Gods should offer. After a 2019 entry, a new DC blockbuster hits theaters at an odd time: the transition between movies Zack Snyder-reimagined DCEU and fresh and exciting James Gunn-led DCU. So, fans’ main interest in this movie is: How does it fit into the conflicting DC universes? Early reactions from critics are here to keep you informed.


Shazam! Wrath of the Gods Returns Billy Batson (Zachary Levy/Asher Angel) and his group of friends unite once again to protect the world from their daughters Greek god Atlas, who came to threaten the superhero. As Batson says in the trailer, “it’s all about family,” and in this entry, the character’s adopted siblings They use their powers to the fullest, we only got a glimpse of them in the first movie.

A star-studded cast apart from Levi Shazam! taking into account size about the project and DC’s moments in theaters and behind the scenes, it’s no surprise that many critics have been motivated to investigate. Shazam! Wrath of the Gods get out and see where it goes franchise. One thing seems to be guaranteed: you will have a lot of fun with the adventure, because it plays its comedic moments as well. Shazam! did

Here at Collider, the mood was divided, with Steve Weintraub emphasizing the comedy of the film and the fun of watching it with the audience. On the other hand, Ross Bonaime While there wasn’t much comedy to be found in the film, Grazer and Hounslow were singled out.

Critics Brandon Davis, Rohit Rajputand Rama Tampubolon all praised the film and called it thematically resonant, a worthy sequel and full of surprises.

Mom’s Geeky Tessa Smith while singling out the film’s villains, said that it was Glazer who stole the show. Swara Salih counted on Sandberg’s direction to bring everything together.

On the other hand, some critics felt that the film failed to reach the heights that the marketing promised with Cheat Sheet’s. Jeff Nelson called it “standard superhero fare” and MSB reviews said the film was “pretty much saved” by the cast. Critic Elysia Brenner says the film won’t compare to the first, but also revealed that the credits scenes will answer questions about his “future plans.” What that means, the audience will have to find out in the theaters.

Overall, critics seem to be mostly enjoying the superhero adventure, even though the gears are shifting away from the DCEU and into the new era heralded by Gunn and Safran.
