A supernatural horror story

The supernatural sub-genre has been associated with horror since its inception. That being said, the genre didn’t really take off in film until the 1968s Rosemary’s Baby. However, the film that completely changed the genre was 1973 Exorcist. The William Friedkin a classic based on William Peter Blatty the book of the same name is still considered one of the scariest movies ever made. It defined how we view exorcists in franchises to this day The ConjuringBased on Warren’s personal case files and underrated gems like the Paramount+ series Evil.

Pope’s Exorcist it seems heavily influenced by the horror classic. In the first images we get of this new film, the moody gothic imagery seems to be ripped straight off. Exorcist.
