Gearbox has announced that its Souls-like game Remnant 2 is the sequel to the 2019 game Residue: From the ashes, will be released this summer. This was announced on Gearbox’s official Twitter account, where a trailer was released that showed off some gameplay along with some cinematics. The trailer opens with the character traveling with his good boy (or girl). In the trailer, we show snippets of the gameplay of the character fighting various monsters and how your dog will help you in battle. Before the trailer ends, we’re given a summer 2023 release window.
The last time we got any content on Remnant 2 was during The Game Awardswhere another trailer showed off more of the gameplay and what the co-op would look like in action.
Remnant plays like most Souls-like games where you have to time your attacks and blocks. But what makes it stand out from the rest is that the game mainly revolves around shooting. So, in addition to being the character fighting them, you’re encouraged to pick up a weapon and fight from a distance if necessary.
Remnant 2 doesn’t have a release date, but is expected to hit PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S this summer.
