MANILA, Philippines—Lindsay Vander Weide and MJ Phillips push Petro Gazz to the brink of the 2022 Premier by beating Chery Tiggo in five sets 25-14, 24-26, 25-13, 21-25, 15-9 provided. Volleyball League Strengthened Conference semifinals at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Saturday.

Vander Weide recorded his second straight 29-point lead with 25 attacks, two blocks and two aces on top of 12 points, while Phillips finished with 23 points, including seven of Petro Gazz’s 13 blocks as he neared the win. Third half ticket with an improved 4-2 record.

In the semi-finals, Chery Tiggo took her second straight defeat after a four-set defeat to Creamline last week and fell 5-2 after 30 errors.

Paat lifted the Crossovers with 21 points. Cza Carandang dealt 13 kills, two blocks and two aces, finishing with 17 points. EJ Laure added 11 points and 13 excellent receptions as Jelena Cvijovic was limited to just eight.
