NCSoft, the Korean publisher of Guild Wars, has announced its first real-time strategy game called Project G.

The game will be released worldwide on PC and mobile devices.

The announcement comes alongside a debut trailer that showcases gameplay built on the Unreal Engine.

Project G official trailer

The action takes place in the world of Pangea. Players must develop their land by constructing buildings and collecting inhabitants before setting out with an army to defeat enemies and monsters, including giant dragons that rain down flames on buildings.

Pangea is a vivid fantasy world in which several races will be represented. Players will need to make tactical decisions based on these dragons and “Strategic Weapons” as they complete wars for objectives and territories.

It’s not clear what else sets this game apart from others in the genre, though the game’s project manager promises an unprecedented scale.

“By creating an RTS title based on NCSoft’s advanced technology accumulated in a large-scale MMO-based combat system, we aim to create an unprecedented scale and quality that no other strategy game has seen,” said project director Minseok Seo.

“Players will be able to experience the quintessence of strategy games combined with different units and worlds unique to Project G, making the gameplay itself a fun factor for players.”

Project G currently has no release date. And what exactly does G stand for?
