Phil Jones will leave Manchester United When his contract expired in the summer after playing just 13 times in the last four seasons of an injury-ridden dozen years at Old Trafford.
The defender, whom Sir Alex Ferguson says could be United’s greatest player ever, made a total of 229 appearances for the club and scored six goals.
He missed an entire season this season when he was kicked out of United’s 25-man Premier League squad by the coach. Plum skin Witchjust like he didn’t play in 2020-21.
Jones said: “The last few years have been very difficult. No one is denying this. There is nothing to hide from it. My family has definitely been instrumental in keeping me on the right track and keeping me focused, trying to stay fit and play more.”

Jones made 41 appearances in his first year at Old Trafford and helped United win the Premier League title in 2012-13. As part of their two World Cup and one European Championship squads, they have won 27 England matches.
