What seemed like a comfortable victory over British number 1 for Djokovic suddenly turned spicy when Norrie broke his opponent’s serve in the second set with a body kick that caught the Serb in the ankle. Djokovic had turned his back on the ball in midfield before he was hit, and the 35-year-old cast a cold glance at Norrie.

From there, Djokovic managed to score a victory to advance to the quarter-finals as Norrie lacked offensive weapons and made so many mistakes in basic rallies that they would annoy the six-time Italian Open champion. Djokovic stepped up preparations for the French Open with an impressive spectacle, as the players shook hands and there was an icy exchange on the nets. Norrie received extensive treatment in his upper leg and hip flexor area during the transition, but Djokovic came 0-30 on his serve as the six-time Italian Open champion tried to close it.

But there is no doubt that Djokovic will bounce back to advance to the quarterfinals with a 6-3, 6-4 win!

Djokovic’s first serve was so impressive that he controlled the points and dictated the rallies. The final moment was a loose forehand return from Norrie and he went straight into the net and there was a short sharp handshake as the players met on the net.

I’m not sure if Djokovic made eye contact.
