We are excited to announce that today we are releasing our first major update of 2023. We call it Fractal (version 4.1).
The Fractal Update introduces a stunning and exclusive new starship, the Utopia Speeder, which allows travelers to travel across the planet’s surface at high speeds.
We’re also launching a new Utopia expedition that forces players to work together and restore an abandoned solar system for the mysterious Utopia Foundation. All is not as it seems, and a new crafting mechanic exclusive to Expeditions will require players to think about exploration, building, and survival in a whole new way. Other expedition rewards include a new exclusive Fearsome Visor helmet, a robotic drone companion, and more.
Exploration players also have a new tool, a brand new Catalog of Wonders. It showcases your most incredible discoveries, from the tallest mountain to the strangest creature. This detailed record of your journey not only makes it easy to compare records with other travelers, but also gives explorers new goals as they set out to find and document the universe’s most unusual sights.
The options menu has also been completely redesigned, adding a number of new accessibility features and giving players even more control over how they play and experience the game. What’s more, these new system features and controls come with even more changes and improvements to the quality of life in the game.
2022 was quite a busy year No one’s sky with major free upgrades like Sentinel, Outlaws, Leviathan, Endurance and Waypoint, as well as a whole host of expeditions. We have an even bigger year planned for 2023, and Fractal marks just the starting point.
