Three of them can be unlocked with the Season 2 Battle Pass, and the crossbow can be unlocked after completing all seven Path of the Ronin event missions or by purchasing through the Store Bundle. However, there is a trick to getting the weapon early. In this guide, we explain how to do it.

Before we continue with the instructions, a fair WARNING and disclaimer. Obtaining this weapon via the MW2 crossbow bug method is not a common method of obtaining. Rather, it is exploiting a known bug that bypasses the requirements and allows players to unlock this weapon earlier than planned. Consequently, this may lead to a temporary suspension or even ban of your account. Truth be told, Activision has never suspended players for this kind of exploit before, at least not en masse. However, doing so puts you at risk of losing your account.
With that out of the way, let’s see how the MW2 crossbow glitch works in season 2. To get the crossbow at the start of MW2 Season 2, follow these instructions shared by a Reddit user u/SyncingShip:

Go all the way back to the Call of Duty screen.

Tap A/X to start, then quickly tap B/Circle and a menu should appear asking if you want to reconnect or log out.

Go offline. Scroll right to local multiplayer. Select it.

Switch to weapons. Create a class. Find the right weapon, in this case it is a crossbow.

Hold LT/L2 to bring up the weapon mount screen. Hold LT/L2 and save it as a project.

Go back to the screen that says “Call of Duty” and go back to the Internet as normal.

Select Multiplayer or Warzone (does not work in DMZ). Go to create a class, go to the crossbow and hold LT/L2 until the gunsmith comes up. Press B/Circle twice.

Congratulations Now you have the weapon and can start leveling it/polishing the camo before it’s officially unlocked.
