In our Map of TOTK Rock Octorok locations we are going to show you where you can find Rock Octoroks in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Perhaps more importantly, we’ll explain how you can use them to repair weapons and even get special effects. It’s a risky move, but given the potential benefits, it’s worth it. Let’s get started!

Tears of the Kingdom of Rock Octorok Locations
Octorok Rock spawn locations in Zelda TOTK or Tears of the Kingdom are around Death Mountain and Eldin Canyon. So, mostly all over the land there were Horons. On the map below, we’ve marked the six locations where Rock Octoroks have been found. There are probably more around Death Mountain, so we’ll update the guide when and if we find them. Feel free to let us know in the comments where you found the Rock Octoroks. As for what these monsters are useful for, we’ll talk about that in the next section.

Weapon repair from Rock Octorok Zelda TOTK
Now that we know where to find Rock Octorok locations in Zelda TOTK or Tears of the Kingdom, let’s talk about how you use them to repair weapons. The first step is to throw an item in front of the monster. The closer you bring it to his mouth, the better. Of course, you can also throw your weapon in front of Octorok’s mouth. However you do it, be sure to keep some distance between you and the monster after he vacuums up the weapon because he will spit it out very quickly. This process restores the item’s durability and adds a random effect to it. If it has already worked, it will be replaced. The process does not work with items obtained by scanning amiibos.
You can now repair weapons with Rock Octorok in Zelda TOTK only once per monster. However, you can always kill them afterwards and then wait for them to respawn during the Blood Moon. Rinse and repeat as needed.
