As Dragon House As season two continues production, it’s clear that Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen’s children will increasingly become major players in A Dance of Dragons. The first season showed just how much Raenya’s children play into the conflict between her and her former friend Alicent Hightower. With casualties being declared on both sides as the war begins, the future of Renira’s family, especially her descendants, is at stake. Dragon House is being threatened. However, Rhaenyra’s lineage is not easy to trace, as she is a Targaryen known for having multiple husbands and a penchant for nepotism (Rhaenyra herself being no exception).
In George RR Martin Fire and blood The book has one of the most interesting stories in the history of Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen. Despite being the eldest child of King Viserys, Rhaenyra never aspired to be the heir to the Iron Throne. But Viserys, who has no male heir, calls Rhaenyra Queen of Dragonstone. As seen in the show so far, Princess Rhaenyra will be married twice in her lifetime: first to Ser Laenor Velaryon and then to her uncle Daemon Targaryen. She gave birth to six children: three Velaryon sons (although Harwyn Strong was the real father), two full-blood Targaryen sons, and one Targaryen daughter, all of whom The war of succession between the Blacks and the Greens of House Targaryen.
Jacaerys Velaryon
Born in 114 BC, Jakeris Velaryon is the eldest son of Princess Rhaenyra and Ser Laenor. Even early on, Jace quickly proves to be a valuable asset against his uncle Aegon II. Jace flies as an emissary on his dragon Vermax, gaining the support of Vale, the Three Sisters, and the North. With the front lines reduced, he came up with the idea of offering nobility to any Targaryen bastard who could tame the horseless dragons of Dragonstone, known in history as “Sowing the Seed”, resulting in new dragon riders ready to fight for the cause (similar ). Game of Thrones‘ Jon Snow with the dragon Rhaegal).
Jace dies at the Battle of Gullet after burning the Triarchy fleet that ambushed Aegon and Viserys’ transport to Pentos. A wounded Vermax crashes into the kitchen, but not before Jace jumps into another burning one. He eventually dies by a crossbow and drowns in the sea. Given that this happened in the middle of the war, it’s possible that Jace died with a cover in the second season of the show. Also, Jacaerys Verlayon is Queen Rhaenyra’s heir and Dragonstone Prince. He is also engaged to his cousin Baela Targaryen (Laena’s daughter of Daemon and Savannah Stane).
Lucerys Velaryon
Like her older brother Jace, Lucerys Velaryon (or Luke) is a dragon rider who travels Westeros in search of followers. Rynira’s claim to the Iron Throne. As the second-born son of Princess Rhaenyra and Ser Laenor, Luke is also betrothed to his cousin: Baela’s twin sister, Raena Targaryen. Before the war, Aemond Targaryen quarreled with his nephews and quickly turned to blood. To save his brother from Aemond’s brutal beating, Luke attacks him, causing Aemond to lose an eye. This incident only fueled Aemond’s anger towards his nieces, especially Lucerys.
Luke’s death Dragon House Season 1 marks the first significant casualty of the war and promises much bloodshed. Despite a terrible storm, Luke leaves the Storm’s End (after receiving a message from Princess Rhaenyra) and returns Arrax to Dragonstone. However, he is pursued in Vhagar by Aemond’s dragon. The two dragons battle Aemond, unable to control Vhgar, as he kills Luke and Arrax.
Joffrey Velaryon
The youngest of Rhaenyra’s children fathered by Velaryon was Joffrey, named after Ser Laenor’s favorite knight. Sir Joffrey of Lonmouth. After Jacaerys’ death, Joffrey became the Prince of Dragonstone. He is betrothed to Lord Desmond’s youngest daughter, an arrangement Jace made so that Whiteport would support the Blacks. Joffrey wants to prove himself as a warrior, even though his mother constantly forbids him from joining the battle.
Despite Joffrey’s inexperience in dragon riding (even his own mount, Thyrax), the stubborn boy’s desire to become a hero ended his life. As the Shepherd storms into the Dragon Pit, Joffrey rushes to fly Rhaenyra’s dragon Syrax (sans saddle.) Syrax throws him from a great height he is not familiar with as a rider. Joffrey dies from the shock and destroys everything in his body. After that, the small nation will tear it apart to get its property. This happens at the end of the war, so don’t expect it to happen Dragon House Season 2.
Aegon Targaryen
Aegon Targaryen is the eldest son of Princess Rhaenyra and Prince Daemon. He was born in 120 BC, the same year they were married. Aegon, referred to as Young Aegon, is described as a depressed individual due to an injury he suffered at the height of the Targaryen War. During Aegon’s voyage to Essos, Aegon the Younger loses his brother Viserys (fatally) when the Triarchy fleet attacks their ship. He escapes on Stormcloud, where he later dies on Dragonstone. During the chaos in King’s Landing, Aegon the Younger witnesses the deaths of Joffrey and Cyrax from the roof of the Red Keep.
Still, it was an incident that scarred young Aegon for life the death of Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, was burned alive and eaten by Aegon the Elder’s dragon Sunfyre. Aegon the Elder then holds Aegon the Younger captive for half a year before his men kill him. Lord Corlys Velaryon makes Aegon the Younger King Aegon III, or Aegon the Dragonfather, as the new Targaryen king. King Aegon III’s reign kept peace with the Seven Kingdoms united after the Dance of Dragons. He dies of an unknown illness and is succeeded by his son Daeron I.
Viserys Targaryen
Contrary to popular belief, Viserys survived the Triarchy attack by pretending to be a shipboy. Viserys finds his way to Lys, where he is taken in by the wealthy Rogare family and marries their youngest daughter, Larra. Soon after word of Viserys’s existence reaches King’s Landing, Aegon III summons his brother and appoints him Hand of the King.
Viserys served in the final years of the reign of Aegon III, his sons King Daeron I and Baelor I. His service was important to the stability of the kingdom, as its kings were often indifferent to personal matters. However, when both of Aegon III’s sons died, they were unable to father heirs. Viserys ascends the Iron Throne in 171 BC and has a short reign, lasting only one year. He dies of a sudden illness believed to be caused by poison.
Visenia Targaryen
Not much is known about Visenya Targaryen, one of the most mysterious of Rhaenyra’s children, except that Princess Rhenyra labored for three days to give birth and Visenya arrived a month before her birth. According to Stupid Mushroom, Visenya was born with defects more similar to dragons than men (although this is an unconfirmed account). Princess Renyra and Prince Daemons only daughter was stillborn. Dragon House depicting this moment in the Season 1 finale, adding to Raenira’s heartache.
