Grand Theft Auto publisher Take-Two Interactive may have just announced the release window for the next entry in the series, Grand Theft Auto 6. Based on announcements made during Take-Two’s annual earnings report, it seems likely that the long-awaited title could launch as early as next year.
In the company annual income statement, Take-Two shared a staggeringly high target of $8 billion in net bookings for the 2025 fiscal year, which begins next April. To put this number in perspective, the company reported a record net bookings were $5.3 billion last year. In previous years, Take-Two’s net bookings hovered around $3 billion. The company elaborated on these forecasts during the call, saying:
“Looking ahead, fiscal year 2025 is a long-awaited year for our company. Over the past few years, we’ve been preparing our business to release an incredibly powerful series of projects that we believe will take our company to even greater levels of success. In fiscal 2025, we plan to enter this new era by launching several revolutionary titles that we believe will set new standards in our industry and enable us to achieve more than $8 billion in net bookings and more than $1 billion in adjusted unrestricted operating cash flow. maintain this momentum by achieving even higher levels of operating results in fiscal 2026 and beyond.”
Based on these numbers and statements, it seems likely that the company is expecting a big release that will ensure an unprecedented level of success. Considering the profitability of the Grand Theft Auto series, it is very likely that GTA 6 will be released.
However, it is important to note that this is an assumption. Also, FY2025 runs from April 2024 to March 31, 2025, which is still a pretty big window for issuance.
