God of War Ragnarokas predicted, topped the UK charts in its debut week and became the second biggest retail launch game of the year after FIFA 23.

It sold more copies on the market in its first week than Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Elden Ring, and Pokemon Legends: Arceus.

God of War: Ragnarok uses Odin as a mob boss in a clever mix of The Last of Us and Skyrim.

Again, this is for UK retail only as digital download data will not be released until next week.

Ragnarok sold 51% more copies than God of War (2018) in its first week, according to GfK (thanks, GI.biz), and is now the third best-selling game in the franchise and second in terms of revenue.

On the UK GfK charts, Modern Warfare 2 fell to number two, with sales down 39%. It was followed by FIFA 23 in third place.

Sonic Frontiers debuted in fourth place with 40% of retail sales on PS5, 34% on Nintendo Switch, 14% on Xbox, and 12% on PS4.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe came in fifth, Nintendo Switch Sports sixth, Horizon: Forbidden West re-entered the top 10 at seventh, Splatoon 3 came in eighth, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Minecraft came in 9th and 10th. respectively.
