Logitech’s G920 and G29 wheel and pedal sets are my recommendations for entry-level racing fans, offering a marked improvement in control and feedback over a gamepad, while also costing far less than Fanatec’s more advanced direct drive alternatives. Both models are down to £170 today, which is a significant discount from the regular price of £240 and more than 50% off the UK RRP – good.

The G920 is an Xbox-focused model, meaning it works on PC, Xbox Series and One consoles, while the G29 works on PC as well as PS4 and PS5 – so choose what works best for you!

In terms of specs, the G920 and G29 tick all the boxes – you get three stainless steel pedals for clutch, brake and accelerator, as well as clicky metal switches on the steering wheel and more than a dozen buttons to access other in-game functions. . You can also purchase the switch separately if you prefer for £38.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel provides fairly detailed force feedback with up to 2.1Nm of torque, helping you determine when your car is on the edge of grip, critical information that helps you improve faster than your controller players. There’s also an LED indicator above the wheel’s center point (G29 only) that lets you know when it’s time to shift gears, and a line at the top of the wheel makes it easy to navigate. Of course, there are also mounting points on both wheels and pedals for use in racing cabs and a clamp to secure the wheel to tables up to 5cm thick.

All in all, it’s an easy way to have a much more exciting racing experience as well as improve your lap time, so give it a shot, especially at such a discounted price!
