Season 4 3 chapters Fortnite already here, called “Paradise”, and with it Brie Larson, Spider-Gwen and a lot of chrome.
In this final season, a mysterious substance appeared on the island that looks very chrome and is supposedly felt. Using a chrome splash has an interesting effect: Throwing it at a wall will literally just walk right through it, which sounds like a fun way to mix things up.
Chrome plating yourself, a suggestion I never thought I’d write, will allow you to fly like a blob while sprinting, and during a limited boost, you’ll be immune to fire damage. Hitting the bubbles will also make you immune to fall damage and give you a little mid-air dash, according to Epic Games. Hitting any part of the building also chromes it, which is found to allow you to walk through it in stages.
There is also a new place to visit, the Herald’s Sanctuary, which is next to the abandoned Sanctuary, which will also have a lot of chrome (there is a thread with this).
According to Epic Games, “Because of the fear of Chrome, some locations on the island are looking for ‘safety’ in the air – most notably Condo Canyon. Now called Cloudy Condos, attack from above in this expanding POI. One way to get up there? D-Launcher available at various locations on the island to help you get higher.”
There are also chrome weapons, and yes, I have never typed the word “chrome” so often in my life.
Captain Marvel Brie Larson is also joining the game as the Paradigm character, as revealed in the new season’s cinematic trailer, and you’ll also be able to get Spider-Gwen. Purchasing the Battle Pass immediately gives you Paradigm, while Spider-Gwen and other new characters must be unlocked by playing through the Battle Pass.
