Finals is a game where multiple teams compete in an extremely destructive environment to capture and cash in. This is done in the style of a game show with squads of three attacking and defending deposit points. There’s a lot to learn about the game, and in this video we cover everything that would be useful to know from the start. This includes knowing the basic differences between light, medium, and heavy classes and how to creatively use their gear and abilities.
Our list of tips will help you focus on some initial skills, such as movement and changing a few settings to make the game easier to see. We’ll look at things you can pick up in the environment, like slime canisters and explosive cylinders, as well as unexpected things you can pick up, like death statues for your team. We’ll look at different and not-so-obvious decision points and phases in a match, such as when to attack and when to defend. This means that you explain why attacking can sometimes be very risky, with severe penalties for getting your team wiped out. Then we’ll cover how to get creative with protecting withdrawal points, like covering the area with slime, destroying ladders, and setting bounce traps. We will look at random variations that can occur in matches, such as low gravity and meteor storms. Finally, we’ll detail what you should know about starting classes and the best ways to use weapons, gear, and abilities. That means getting creative with zip lines, sledgehammers and grappling hooks.
The Finals is a free-to-play game from Embark Studios that is currently in closed beta for PC. It runs on Unreal Engine 4 and has highly destructible environments. It will be released soon on Steam, and is planned to appear on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in the future.
