The European Athletics Indoor Championships return in hopes of improving England’s two golds two years ago.
Despite winning 12 medals in Poland, the British team finished fourth in the medal table with the Netherlands for the first time after winning four European indoor titles.
Supported by the presence of a four-time gold medalist Laura Muir – who have not won medals in any other color at these Championships, but missed the focus on their Olympic preparation last time – England must be strong, Keely Hodgkinson an equally prominent middle distance medalist.
But there’s also a lot of talent in the Netherlands as Femke Bol is in superb indoor form – and that’s not to mention a host of other European stars to compete with, including the Tokyo 2020 men’s 100m champion. Marcell Jacobs Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Karsten Warholm from (Italy) and Norway.

The 2023 European Indoor Athletics Championships will be held from March 2-5 at Ataköy Arena in Istanbul, Turkey. The country is hosting the event for the first time.
