The head of Monthly studies said his next game could “make or break” the company.
After 2015’s Ori and the Blind Forest and the 2020s Ori and Will of the WispsMoon’s third game an action role-playing game to be published by Private Division.
A post on Twitter by Moon Studios CEO and Game Director Thomas Mahler said that the studio has no plans to take any chances with the upcoming game.

“Our next project will be a turning point for Moon,” he said wrote.
“Either we succeed in revolutionizing the ARPG genre, or we will slowly fade into the distance.
“Although it must be scary, I LOVE the challenge! Diablo, PoE, etc.: We’re after you, may the best one win!”
Mahler also confirmed that the game will feature a top-down camera perspective.
Moon was created in 2010 by Mahler (former cinematographer in Blizzard Entertainment) and Hennadiy Korol (former senior graphic engineer of Animation Lab).
“Developing the Ori series over the past decade has been a fantastic experience for our team, and we’re thrilled to now aim even higher with a new action role-playing game,” the pair said in 2020, when it was announced that Private department would publish the game.
“We attribute our success to the ‘iterative polishing’ process we use at Moon Studios, and we’re continuing this development style to create a new game that rises above anything we’ve created so far.”
The game designer job was posted in late 2019 revealed that Moon was working on an action role-playing game.
It required experience playing titles like Diablo, Zelda, and Dark soulsand claimed that the opportunity would give the successful candidate the chance to “work on an RPG that dares to innovate and go far beyond what the genre has offered players so far.”
