Destiny 2 Root of Nightmares Weapons – Review
Destiny 2 Root of Nightmares weapons are some of the best in the game. As always, raid weapons only drop during certain encounters, and you’ll have to go through the entire raid to get a shot at these exotics. Note that weapon drops are not guaranteed, so players should plan to grind the action multiple times to obtain certain Root of Nightmares weapons. Players looking for specific throws should plan the grand even more, as weapon throws tend to be just a random success.
Here are all the new weapons and the encounter where you can find each one.
- Conditional Finality Exotic Rifle (Final Encounter)
- Solar Briar’s Contempt Legendary Linear Fusion Rifle (first encounter, last encounter)
- Koraxis’s Distress Legendary Strand Grenade Launcher (first encounter, second encounter, last encounter)
- Nessa Oblation Legendary Void Rifle (first encounter, second encounter, last encounter)
- Mykel’s Reverence Legendary Strand Sidearm (second encounter, third encounter, final encounter)
- Acasia’s Dejection Solar Legendary Rifle (second encounter, third encounter, final encounter)
- Rufus’s Fury Legendary Strand Automatic Rifle (Third Encounter, Final Encounter)
All legendary weapons in Root of Nightmares are powerful, so it’s worth trying to earn them.
Destiny 2 Conditional Finality Exotic Rifle
Classified as a Stasis weapon, Conditional Finality is a double-barreled shotgun that splits its damage between Stasis and Solar, with bullets on one side hitting targets with Stasis and bullets on the other side with Solar.
Hitting an enemy with most Stasis Orbs will freeze targets and all Sun Orbs will ignite the orbs. Combined with certain Aspects and Fragments, these weapons can make some powerful builds even more powerful.
Exotics have a low drop rate, but players who complete various triumphs will have an increased chance of obtaining exotics. However, they can earn money only in the final match against Nezarets.
Destiny 2 Root of Nightmares Legendary weapon
All legendary weapons in Root of Nightmares are named after individuals. This naming convention refers to weapons in this set that are designed to work in tandem with each other for additional bonuses due to the following trait:
- Harmonic Resonance: Using multiple weapons from this set increases weapon reload speed and control. It also deals increased damage to Tormentors, Transparent Hive, and Guardians using their superpowers.
Harmonic mods also grant bonuses to weapons that match your subclass element.
Also, note that all legendary raid weapons are craftable, meaning you can get red-framed variants of these weapons, and after mining five patterns you’ll unlock the ability to craft your own. Additionally, you can earn an adapted version of this weapon.
Here’s a closer look at raid weapons.
Briar’s contempt
Featuring an aggressive frame, this Legendary Solar Linear Fusion Rifle is a strong addition to any outfit. His matched roll includes Detonator, which gives grenade energy, and Focused Fury, which deals half weapon damage, as the exact damage deals extra weapon damage.
The Trouble of Coraxis
This fast-firing Strand power grenade launcher can be dropped with attributes such as Hatchling, which spawns Threadlings with precision hits or quick kills, and Chain Reaction, which deals final hits and creates elemental explosions.
Nessa’s victim
This Void Energy Slug rifle fires a single shot and has a predictable vertical recoil. His perk pool includes perks like Destabilizing Rounds, which causes enemies to become unstable, and Fourth Time’s the Charm, where a quick landing returns two rounds to the magazine.
Mykel
Raiders are already raving about this fast-firing Root of Nightmares Strand kinetic spike weapon for PvP and PvE. With the ability to drop with perks like Perpetual Motion, which grants bonuses to stability, maneuverability, and speed while the Warden is moving, and Paracausal Affinity, which deals all last hits of the weapon’s affinity type (in this case Darkness, which includes Stasis and Strand) on short duration gives increased weapon damage. These two options alone make it a powerful choice for PvE.
Acacia’s disappointment
This Adaptive Frame Legendary Solar Energy Trace rifle has high aim assist and stability ratings. The selected roll for this weapon drops from Reconstruction, which allows it to reload up to double capacity over time, and High-Impact reserves, meaning rounds at the end of the magazine do more damage.
Rufus’ Fury
Many Guaridans say this Legendary Strand Kinetic Auto Rifle is one of the best non-exotic weapons of the season. His specially designed throw features Harmony, which deals final hits with other weapons to improve the weapon’s damage and effectiveness for a short time, and Thrash, where killing combatants with that weapon grants a small amount of super energy. However, benefits like Hatchling and Demolitionist mentioned earlier make it one of the most powerful options for PvE.
