The Fate 2 The meaning of Lightfall Veil has left players scratching their heads to the point that even top content creators like Byf weighed in on the disjointed flow of the campaign’s narrative, which forces players to search for things they don’t understand. But apparently in response to player complaints that the lack of consistency resulted in a mediocre Lightfall campaign experience in FPS gameBungie says players will get answers about the Veil’s meaning Destiny 2 season 21called Season of the Deep.
In a recent post in the game development studio’s This Week at Bungie blog series, blogger Sam shares that the upcoming Season of the Deep quest will allow players to explore Neomuna, teaching them about the “nature of the Veil through the exploration of Osiris.” The quest will also share some “newly revealed” Ishtar Collective data and will be available to all owners of Destiny 2 Lightfall, meaning players won’t need to pay for the Season Pass to play it and earn rewards.
Next is the quest will reward players with three new Strand aspects (one per class), which are as follows:
- Titan: Flechette Storm
- Hunter: Threaded Spectre
- Warlock: The Wanderer
In addition, the quest will provide players with a new legendary weapon. It appears to be a hand cannon, although Bungie hasn’t revealed any details about the weapon other than its concept art.
While Bungie didn’t say so outright, it appears that the decision to release information regarding the upcoming quest line was made to appease players who expressed frustration with unanswered questions about the Veil’s meaning. Even Bif, who the Destiny 2 community calls the game’s “Lore Daddy,” released a video in which he shared his frustration that even he did not understand the meaning of the Veil.
The question is whether it will be too little, too late for Destiny 2’s devoted fanbase as Bungie tries to wrap up the loose threads of this disjointed storyline.
