In an age where games are struggling to find new and innovative ways to monetize, the Season Pass reigns supreme. Therefore, it is not surprising that the Callisto Protocol will have its own season pass.

The Season Pass information, which was first reported by the folks at VGC, was revealed after being added to the Callisto Protocol page on Steam.

The Season Pass will be available to anyone who purchases the Digital Deluxe version of the game and will include the Story DLC, the Contagion Bundle, the Riot Bundle, and the Outer Way Skin Collection.

The Contagion Pack is a brand new game mode for the Callisto Protocol and is not for the faint of heart. In this mode, the amount of ammo and health will be reduced, and permanent death will become something special. So in this mode, designed for the hardest gamers, there is no room for mistakes. In addition to the new mode, there will also be 13 brand new death animations for main character Jacob.

At first, I was worried about the new death animations, fearing that my experience in The Callisto Protocol would not actually be as gory as I would have liked. However, Glen Schofield accepted Twitter to solve this problem as I was far from the only one who was worried about it. “To be clear, we’re not hiding anything from the main Season Pass game,” Schofield shares.

“We haven’t even started work on this content yet. These are all new things we will be working on in the new year. Fans have been asking for MORE deaths, so we’re making it a priority next year.”

As such, Callisto Protocol will be released as intended, with all new Season Pass content still in development. This means no one will miss out on any exciting details or finishers when the game releases, and I’m happy to hear that.

In addition to the new skin collection and the Contagion Bundle, the Season Pass will also feature the Riot Bundle. This will take you to a never-before-seen area of the Dark Iron Prison where you will face hordes of enemies. You will need to earn credits to upgrade your gear and survive as long as possible in this new game mode. In addition, the Riot Bundle will include 12 new death animations and a collection of engineer skins.

Looks like those who want more from The Callisto Protocol are in for a treat. Two new game modes, dozens of new death animations, and additional story DLC are sure to keep anyone busy, especially during the Christmas period.
