BattleBit Remastered aims to take back the crown that Battlefield 2042 seemingly lost as its developer runs a series of public free stress tests for the low-poly FPS multiplayer game. Putting function over form, BattleBit Remastered aims to emphasize that gameplay is king in the competitive FPS genre – and with many of the top players in games like Modern Warfare 2, CS:GO and Overwatch 2 turning their settings down to the bare minimum for optimal performance. maybe they are right.

BattleBit Remastered offers multiple modes across multiple maps, with matches ranging from intense 8v8 encounters to 254-player battle zones. Interestingly, the team says the map layouts can adapt to the current number of players on the server, so if there aren’t as many people as expected, you should still see a lot of action.

Like the Battlefield games it clearly draws inspiration from, players are divided into small squads with a designated squad leader and can choose which class to play from a list: Assault, Medic, Engineer, Support, and Scout. Each class comes with their own unique gadgets in addition to the “over 35 weapons” currently on offer to customize your loadout. You can also jump into a range of vehicles to quickly engage in combat, and the environment is almost completely destructible, allowing you to shape the battlefield with explosive play.

As previously mentioned, BattleBit Remastered is currently undergoing regular stress tests. The last one took place on November 19th and we took the opportunity to see how the game is progressing. It’s certainly incredibly hectic, but it certainly has the same general rhythm that you’ve come to know and love from games like Battlefield – which may well be enough to spark joy in the year EA hopes 3 Season 2 of Battlefield 2042 could revitalize the player base that was returning to Battlefield 1 rather than playing the last entry.

Of course, it would be remiss if we didn’t take advantage of this opportunity and remember MAG for PS3 – Massive Action Game, which offered battles for 256 players. However, then the battles were divided much more in order to keep the situation under control. BattleBit Remastered seems to take chaos to heart, but from what we’ve seen so far, it looks like it’s handling it pretty well. Beware the battlefield.

We’ve taken a look at the new Battlefield 2042 Spearhead map, which takes place in the Swedish countryside and offers more difficult terrain that’s ideal for smaller Breakthrough or Conquest matches. We also have many more of the best PC multiplayer games, as well as more of the best indie games if you want to try something narrower.
