Actor Jeremy Renner is making incredible strides after a horrific New Year’s Day accident in which he was run over by a snowplow and broke more than 30 bones. Renner, who was not sure he would survive his injuriesrecently posted an Instagram video showing how far he’s come in such a short amount of time since his traumatic injury.

On the video published on Twitter and Instagram, Renner can be seen running on a treadmill that looks like a microgravity treadmill from Boost Treadmills. He captioned the video: “First attempt at a very easy weight lifting run for a broken tibia.”

Yes, that’s right, the Hawkeye star is not only already returning to jogging, but she’s doing so on a broken leg.

“It’s a new movement that I’m not used to… Walking and running are very different muscle groups,” Renner said in an Instagram video (via The Hollywood Reporter). “The leg is still broken, thank goodness for titanium.”

Renner suffered horrific injuries in the crash as he tried to save a family member, including broken bones, his eye popping out of his socket and a jaw that had to be held together with rubber bands and screws. He needed numerous operations.

His treadmill video isn’t the first example of Renner getting back into his workouts after his accident. He really is in February sat down on an exercise bike.

Renner got support after an accidentfrom fans and from fellow movie stars like Chris Evans and Chris Pratt.

At the hospital, Renner said he wrote down his “last words” to his family if he died. “Don’t let me live on the tubes in the car,” Renner said of what he told his family. “If I’m going to exist on drugs and painkillers, let me go now.”

Renner is a two-time Academy Award nominee, best known for his roles in The Wicked Locker and The City. In the MCU, he plays Clint Barton, also known as Hawkeye.
