In a recently released video Tested, Adam Savage A close-up of Danny Boyle’s gold EVA space suit from the 2007 sci-fi film Sunshine. I’ve always thought this was a really cool and unique design for a space suit, and it’s nice to see it up close as Savage examines it and points out all the details.
The last spacesuit Adam checked out from Propstore CEO Stephen Lane’s collection is Danny Boyle’s giant gold EVA suit from Sunshine. The Hulking spacesuit’s distinctive gold plating and low-visibility funnel-shaped helmet were designed to protect the characters from the sun’s rays and enhance the feeling of claustrophobia in its wearer. Adam and Steven talk about the challenges of performing in a costume like this, showing details never before seen on screen.
