In his posts on Instagram and Twitter, 50 Cent teased the unknown Vice City project, saying it will be bigger than power, the 2014 crime drama he produced, and that he will “explain everything later.” Although he cut out ““Grand Theft Auto” in his posts and did not mention the franchise, many fans immediately assumed that 50 Cent would play a role in GTA 6, which is said to take place in Vice City. The rapper later deleted the posts and did not correct any rumors.

GTA fans finally got their answer via a report from Deadline that 50 Cent wasn’t actually going to appear in the GTA 6. Vice City is apparently the working title of the new original series Paramount+ is developing with the rapper John Wick directed by Chad Stahelski. The series will take place in Miami City in the mid-80s and tell the story of three friends who were dishonorably discharged from the army and create a group of robbers to make ends meet. 50 Cent also confirmed the news on Twitter and Instagram. Although it looks like a plot straight from GTA, Vice City has nothing to do with the franchise.

Many gamers on social media were surprised by the news, while one found it funny Vice City was not a television adaptation of the game. Some said they didn’t expect 50 Cent to announce anything GTA 6, and that the announcement of the Paramount+ series actually made sense. Meanwhile, the rapper’s fans also congratulated him on the new project, expressing their admiration for the show.

Until GTA 6 is currently in development, there have been many leaks and rumors about the game. Many insiders believe that last GTA the title may be canceled in 2024, or may be postponed until 2025 at most.
